The small groups are what keep me going with this church otherwise I would feel completely lost! However there is something to be said about worship in a large church - how wonderful it is to hear hundreds of voices raised together in song!

Thank you as ever for your encouraging comments and also the mention that your teens have or are struggling with fears, too. I too am in a big church (we average about 2800 people in one weekend (a Sat eve service and 2 Sunday morning services and we have 3 sister sites...all under one head/senior pastor with each site having a lead pastor.) I LOVE LOVE LOVE it because I (and my husband) had to be intentional about joining or leading small groups. My husband is in a small group for adults in their 40s/50s/60s and I lead a small group of women who have kids in their teens/college. I highly recommend small groups and if your church doesn't have them, suggest them or start your own small group/Bible study. The group I lead just discussed a chapter on teens and fears (your comment about your daughters' fears reminded me) and I am finding the book The Power of a Praying Parent to be so timely and uplifting as we parent our college aged girl who has a bit of fear of the future looming before her. I loved this post!! Surrendering everything including our deepest thoughts and feelings to Christ is so vital in this life journey. God bless you and keep up the good work regarding your weight loss!!Faithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06608258814596465122noreply@blogger.com
